But while climate change is not a salient political issue clean energy is. According to polling conducted by Pew clean energy is a potential wedge issue with right leaning constituencies. That’s because in places like California Republicans are 5 times more likely to own rooftop solar than their crunchy liberal friends. That’s an important political opportunity in an increasingly polarized world.
